Rossella Rubini MMus
Rossella Rubini graduated in Teramo (Italy) at the age of 18 with distinction; in the same year she won a grants to attend the Mozarteum Summer Courses in Salzburg with Alfons Kontarsky. She then moved to Rome, where she graduated in Musicology (Bachelors and Masters Degree) at the University of Rome with distinction (cum laude). In the meantime, she had been studying with Aldo Tramma, practising piano solo and chamber music, attending national and international competitions in which she always obtained one the first three positions, teaching music and piano in private and public school, attending many masterclasses all over the Country with Laura De Fusco, Andrée Jasinki, Mariangela Vacatello, Bruno Canino and others, and two year-course in chamber music in Florence with Pier Narciso Masi.Rossella currently lives in Oxford, working as piano teacher, accompanist and pianist. In 2013 she worked in co-operation with the visual artist Tamarin Norwood (University of Oxford) for the video opera Dance for Solo Piano and Premier Pro, commissioned by the Central Saint Martins College of Arts of London. Her latest work, in February 2014, was composing and perfoming music for the Total Potemkin Exhibition curated by Laura Carlotta Gottlob at St. John’s College in Oxford. With the Colli&Rubini Duo she is performing four hands piano music all over Europe and abroad: their first CD, Gino Marinuzzi Jr. Piano Works (Italy, 2012) contains the first recording of the piano music by this Italian composer; their second CD, The Voyage (London, 2012), was selected for the Grammy Awards of Los Angeles in 2013.
