Junior Fundamental Course

6 and 7 year olds

The Junior Fundamental Course (JFC) offers an exciting music curriculum which has been designed specifcally for this age group.
Starting age: 6 or 7 years - 'Nearly 6s' should start in the Junior Music Course.
Length: 1 year and leads onto the Junior Extension Course.

JFC has a good variety of repertoire pieces as well as chord playing, solfege (do re mi), lyric singing, ensemble and music theory, all of which combine to produce a happy developing musician.

Parents are not required to be in all lessons, but we do encourage you to come regularly if you can.

It's great fun, and children quickly grasp the principles and get playing!

See our news page for articles and recordings of our students who are in the Yamaha courses.

HOW TO JOIN

We like all our families to experience an introductory session before reserving a class time in this course. These sessions usually happen twice a year: in March and October.

Contact us to book your place in an introductory session or to go on the list to receive information about future open days and new lessons.

Families may reserve places in new classes ahead of the open day if they already have a child with us, or have previously attended an open day.
