The Junior Advanced Course lasts for two years and leads onto the Advanced Extension Course.
JAC includes both a group and an individual piano lesson each week.
Most of the curriculum is covered in the group lesson, which continues to be an excellent and important learning environment. Subjects become more sophisticated, for example: the singing is often in parts; chords are played in different inversions; ensemble part scores and ensemble arrangement is introduced.
The individual lesson is where the piano repertoire is now covered (please note instrument requirements at home).
JAC deepens and extends the students' musical knowledge and abilities, and builds on the foundations of creativity laid in JXC. The children enjoy helping each other introduce structure into their compositions.
Children are now much more independent, but parents are still vital! Parents are not required to attend lessons, although you will be invited to observe from time to time to keep in touch.
